The spear's goal is to locate and restore the forgotten temples of the Dark God, Tharizdun, and revive his sleeping guardians. The spear will attempt three times to dominate its wielder before surrendering, sleeping until a new owner.
It corrupts and controls all who carry it, and only the strongest minds can resist it. The wielder can also conjure storms of ice and cold, and regenerate from injury as long as the weapon remains in their possession.Īnyone who carries the spear is tormented by nightmares and visions of a future. They cannot be deceived by any but the most powerful of magical illusions. They are invulnerable to cold, including the freezing temperatures of temples of the Dark One, Tharizdun. The spear's wielder is protected in combat, and almost impossible for untrained men to strike.
It is seven feet long and made entirely of black stone. The Spear of Sorrow is a a barbed, bladed polearm.
